One of our favorite sets of plates used in photos for this site comes from the “Rustic” line at House Doctor. These dishes are hand-made and have numerous intentional irregularities that mesh perfectly with a Middle Kingdoms aesthetic. While regularity in household wares there is valued, no one expects them to be perfectly identical… as the vast majority of housewares there are either handmade, or use methods and materials that leave each piece marked with some modicum of individuality.

Right now we have the 11.5 cm bowl, the 14cm bowl, the 27.5cm plate, and the “Pion”-range spoon.
